Trained in Ukraine and active with Yuri Lyubimov in the avant-garde adventure of the Taganka Theatre in Moscow, David Borovsky (Odessa 1934–Bogotà 2006) signed the scenography of celebrated productions in Europe and the United States, creating for La Scala the revolutionary visual score of Al gran sole carico d’amore by Luigi Nono (1975) and the gigantic icon towering over Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov (1979) in addition to other stagings of Mussorgsky and Tchaikovsky.
